Tactical tape is a 1-inch wide pressure-sensitive stretch wrap for rifles and magazines. Cedar Mill Tactical Tape color-codes magazines, pads exposed Picatinny rail sections where your support hand grips, and pins weapon light and laser cables against the rail. It sticks on contact, tears by hand and leaves no residue.
2-Pack - Two 21.87-yard rolls ($19.99). Covers magazine inventory, single handguard wrap, or two rifle cable runs.
Cedar Mill Tactical Tape is a 1-inch wide pressure-sensitive stretch wrap built for three specific rifle and shooting applications: magazine identification, Picatinny rail hand protection, and weapon light cable management. Each roll is 21.87 yards - enough to mark a full magazine inventory, wrap an entire free-float handguard, or secure cables on multiple builds.
What can you use tactical tape for on a rifle?
How do you mark magazines with tactical tape?
Color-code your magazines by caliber or capacity. Apply a band of tape around the lower third of the magazine body on every magazine of a given caliber - all .300 Blackout mags get red, all 5.56 get no tape, and so on. The adhesive sticks on contact and holds through hundreds of insertion and removal cycles without migrating or unwrapping - and leaves no residue when removed. One roll covers a large magazine inventory in a single session.
Can tactical tape protect your hand on a Picatinny rail?
Free-float handguards with exposed Picatinny sections cut into the support hand during extended sessions. Wrap the tape directly over rail sections in the support hand grip zone - the stretch wrap conforms to the serrated rail geometry, creating a padded, grippy surface that eliminates the sharp edge contact. Lighter, faster, and more customizable in coverage than rail cover segments.
Weapon Light and Laser Cable Management
Route activation cables for weapon-mounted lights and laser systems cleanly against the handguard rail. Apply strips at 2–3 inch intervals perpendicular to the cable run to pin the cable against the rail surface. The stretch characteristic wraps over the cable's round profile and contacts the rail on both sides - holding the cable against the rail without snagging during handling or under recoil. Removes cleanly with no residue.
